Resources for Beginner Calligraphers

We always recommend joining the Calligraphic Society, even if you’re just starting out.

Why?

We meet monthly in a semi-casual setting. Our meetings, included in the modest $30 annual membership dues, are led by experienced members, covering lettering techniques and adjacent projects. It’s like taking 8 free mini calligraphy classes a year!

We are always eager to learn about your practice, answer questions, and offer lots of guidance and suggestions.

In addition, you’ll be aware of upcoming calligraphy workshops you may be interested in.

If, however, you’re still in the “clicking around” phase of your calligraphy journey, here are a few sites to help you get your bearings and learn more.
