Manuscript Collection Viewing

CSA has arranged a member-only visit to view the Illustrated Manuscript collection at the Irish Cultural Center! Members will have access to some items usually kept locked in glass display cases, including the Aberdeen Bestiary, Dura, and a facsimile of a Book of Kells volume.

The ICC’s head librarian, Kelly Bechtel, will host. The library is small, so attendance will be limited to the first ten members who commit to going on January 17. We need to let Kelly know how many to expect, so please RSVP by 5 PM on January 12.

There is some parking in the lots behind the ICC’s castle-like building and to the south; carpooling is encouraged, and the Valley Metro Light Rail stops a few blocks away on Central Ave. as well.

If you are unable to attend on a weekend or because demand exceeds capacity, we will try to set up a weekday visit in the future.
